A party without games is like a cone without ice cream! Break the ice and liven up
your party with games and activities for everyone. Here are some of our favorites.
Mystery Flavor Taste Test
How well do you know your Edy's ice cream? Blindfold the player and serve up a spoonful — then tally up which players guess the most flavors correctly. This is one game that your guests won't want to end!
What Flavor Am I?
Write different Edy's Slow Churned® light ice cream flavor names on separate sheets of paper. Tape each one to a party guest's back, without letting him or her see it. Your guests can ask each other "yes" or "no" questions while trying to identify their flavor. Am I a berry flavor? Am I mixed with pieces of candy? The first guest to guess his or her flavor wins.
Personality Bingo!
This icebreaker is a great way to introduce your guests to one another. Make up a bingo grid with a different personal characteristic in each space, anything from "I ride a motorcycle" or "I have a twin" to "I play a musical instrument" or "I can roll my tongue." Players collect one signature in each space from another guest who has that particular characteristic. The first to fill a row on his or her card wins.
Neighborhood Mural
If a picture can say a thousand words, this activity will tell the story of your entire neighborhood. Unroll a large sheet of oversized butcher paper and let everyone draw a self-portrait in marker or crayon. Be sure to take plenty of pictures to commemorate this neighborhood collaboration.
A Penny for Your Memories
This revealing icebreaker costs only one cent per person! Get out your old penny jar and pass one penny to each guest. After noting the year the penny was made, have each guest introduce themselves, and then tell a story to the group about what they were doing during the year on their penny.
Red Rover with a Twist
This classic neighborhood game is one everybody can join. Put a spin on the traditional Red Rover game by substituting everyone's names with a different Edy's Slow Churned® light ice cream flavor. Then ask them to Red Rover, Red Rover, send that ice cream flavor right over.
Tasty Treasure Hunt
The search is on for the missing Edy's Slow Churned® light ice cream carton! Design a treasure map to hand out, and set up clues around a designated area in the party location, that kids and adults can follow until the hidden carton is found. Make it feel like finding a real treasure chest by placing a small prize inside the carton.
Water Balloon Toss (Recommended for Ages Seven and Up)
(Swim)suit up the kids for a neighborhood game that really requires teamwork! Have guests pick a partner and stand across from them in two long lines. One person, deemed the "Fire Chief," acts as referee, letting everyone know when to start tossing and watching for any broken balloons. Make the game more challenging by having each partner take one step back after certain intervals of time. When someone drops a balloon, they're out and the last pair still tossing wins.
